EXPLORE HO CHI MINH CITY

We'll begin at Ho Chi Minh Square, home to the iconic statue of President Ho Chi Minh in front of the historic People's Committee Building. It's one of the city's most photographed spots and a great introduction to Saigon's blend of colonial and modern architecture.

From there, it's a short walk to Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, a striking red-brick structure built by French colonists in the late 19th century. Even amid restoration work, its twin bell towers remain a beloved symbol of the city center.

Just across the street sits the Central Post Office, another French colonial gem designed with the help of Gustave Eiffel's team. Step inside to admire the high arched ceilings, vintage maps, and old-world charm still in daily use today — it's also a fun spot to pick up postcards and handmade paper crafts as small souvenirs.

Next, we'll head to Independence Palace, the former residence and workplace of South Vietnam's president. Preserved largely as it was in 1975, the building offers a vivid look into wartime history, from underground command bunkers to period-decorated reception rooms.

A short drive brings us to the War Remnants Museum, a powerful and moving experience that documents the impact of the Vietnam War through photographs, military equipment, and personal stories. It's one of the most visited and emotionally resonant stops in the city.

In the afternoon, we'll dive into the energy of Ben Thanh Market, one of Saigon's oldest and busiest markets. This is prime shopping territory — browse stalls piled high with local handicrafts, lacquerware, embroidered textiles, coffee, spices, and souvenirs, and don't be shy about bargaining with vendors; it's part of the experience.

We'll wrap up the guided portion at Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the pulse of modern Saigon. Beyond the cafés and open plazas, the surrounding blocks are packed with shopping options, from the boutiques and malls like Vincom Center to the bargain-friendly stalls of Saigon Square nearby. It's especially lively in the late afternoon and evening as locals and visitors alike come out to stroll, shop, and enjoy the city's skyline.

To end the day, those who'd like some nightlife can head to Bui Vien Street, Saigon's famous backpacker strip. In the evening, it comes alive with bars, street food stalls, live music, and a buzzing crowd spilling into the road — a fun, high-energy way to close out your time in the city.
