DISCOVER THE MAKING OF INCENSE

Your tour will begin when our guide and driver come and greet you at your accommodation or a designated pickup spot in Hanoi's Old Quarter at approximately 8:00. We will take you on a ride for over an hour to Quang Phu Can Incense Village.

At about 9:20, we will arrive at the village, and you will have time to stroll around and indulge in the uniqueness of the village.

You can bring your camera to capture the unique beauty of the village. In the village, there are hundreds of colorful bundles of incense that are artistically arranged into shapes such as the Vietnam national flag or the S-shaped map of Vietnam.  Because the incense sticks are usually red, you can wear white, blue, or green to stand out from the background for better photos.

Moreover, you will also have the chance to be introduced to the process of making incense from splitting bamboo and bundling sticks, to dyeing them in vibrant colors, and rolling incense.

Talking to the locals and learn about the history of the village and incense is also a way to understand the incense offering ritual of the Vietnamese people. When an incense stick is burned, people manifest their desires, and the incense spiritually sends those desires to their ancestors or deities.
