THE DELICACIES OF AN ANCIENT IMPERIAL CAPITAL

At approximately 8:00, our tour guide will arrive at your hotel in Hue and escort you on the tour. The mode of transportation will be decided based on your preferences, whether by foot, bicycle, or motorbike.

The first dish you should try is Bun Hen, which is prepared with different kinds of clams, such as black clams, white clams, striped clams, and floating clams. The broth, simmered from pork bones, spices, and clams, creates a distinctive taste and unique aroma that sets Bun Hen apart.

Banh beo Hue is made from rice flour as the main ingredient, so it has a pure white color and a beautifully round shape. In the center is a filling of red or golden shrimp together with an eye-catching layer of scallion oil. It is served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce, which makes the flavor of the cake even more appealing.

Thanks to its combination of savory and sweet flavors in the same bowl, Che bot loc heo quay is considered one of the most “unique” dishes of Hue. This dish consists mainly of tapioca flour and roasted pork, along with peanuts, and is eaten with ginger-flavored syrup.

For lunch, we will have the most signature food of this land that was created since the 16th century, which is Bun Bo Hue.  Its soul lies in the rich broth, simmered from beef bones and enhanced with fermented shrimp paste and lemongrass, creating a distinctive aroma and taste that makes it unforgettable. Bun bo Hue also features rice vermicelli, tender beef, pork blood pudding, and flavorful crab cakes.

After indulging in these iconic dishes, we will conclude our half-day Hue excursion and return you to your hotel around 12:30

This journey offers the chance to savor Hue’s most iconic specialties while gaining a deeper appreciation of the city’s rich culture and traditions. A food tour in Hue goes beyond eating; it is a discovery of history, flavors, and the soul of the ancient imperial capital.
