THE DELICACIES OF AN ANCIENT IMPERIAL CAPITAL

At approximately 6 p.m., our tour guide will arrive at your hotel in Hue and escort you on the tour.

The first dish you should try is Hen xuc banh trang, which is a rustic dish from Hue. It features tender baby clams cooked with ingredients such as lemongrass, chili, and onions, then served with crispy grilled rice paper. To prepare this dish, the clams are thoroughly cleaned, stir-fried with lemongrass, garlic, onion, and seasonings, and enjoyed hot with freshly grilled rice paper.

Banh beo Hue is made from rice flour as the main ingredient, so it has a pure white color and a beautifully round shape. In the center is a filling of red or golden shrimp together with an eye-catching layer of scallion oil. It is served with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce, which makes the flavor of the cake even more appealing.

Next, we will have the most signature food of this land that was created since the 16th century, which is Bun Bo Hue.  Its soul lies in the rich broth, simmered from beef bones and enhanced with fermented shrimp paste and lemongrass, creating a distinctive aroma and taste that makes it unforgettable. Bun bo Hue also features rice vermicelli, tender beef, pork blood pudding, and flavorful crab cakes.

Thanks to its combination of savory and sweet flavors in the same bowl, Che bot loc heo quay is considered one of the most “unique” dishes of Hue. This dish consists mainly of tapioca flour and roasted pork, along with peanuts, and is eaten with ginger-flavored syrup.
